Sony sealed inner ear receiver XBA-C10IP / B, Little Bass, Uncomfortable. Great Clarity and Separation.

Pros:1) extremely good sound quality for the price. Very even across all frequencies and great for any music genre, from electro to rock, to acoustic, and even hip-hop/rap. They do have deep bass extension, and detailed but not harsh treble. As for the mids, i was able to clearly hear and understand ol’ dirty bastard from wu-tang clans 36 chambers album. Yeah, try doing that with your current headphones. 2) microphone and play pause and skip buttons work excellent with iphones and macs. 3) pretty good isolation from the ear buds. You don’t need bose active sound cancelation (which only adds noise to your audio anyways) to enjoy your music and have yourself some isolation. Put the earphones on and outside noise is drastically reduced.

Comfortable, good sounding earbuds with the nice inline mic/volume/play-pause controls.

These are becoming rarer and rarer, so pick up a pair while you still can.

, The first one was so good I bought another for backup 🙂

This is probably still my favorite pair of earphones. The sound is round and full, but not aggressive as some other do. I listen mostly to classical music and the quality i appreciate most about this pair is the sense of air around the individual instruments yet all integrated in a natural sounding mix. Too bad sony discontinued this product.

The sound quality us great for the cost. After just one week, the connection began to short out.

Soundstage, bass, treble, fit. Thought i wouldn’t like the the little triangle thingie, but it seems to assist indsertinon and maintaining alignment. The first one was so good i bought another for backup :).

The only complaint i have with these is that they slip when i wear them while working out because the silicone slips on my sweat (but shame on me for thinking that they would be good for that because they are not specifically for exercise). The sound on these is cleaner than any other pair of in-ear headphones i’ve ever owned.

Great sound but terrible fit. There’s a reason they stopped making those and that’s probably to do with the fit. Cannot recommend those as is :(.

A little background on what i listen to. I listen to a pretty wide diversity of music, from metal and hard rock (slipknot, van halen and foo fighters), to pop rock (del amitri, sting and matt nathanson) to alternative (talk talk, et al. ), and blues (keb’ mo’, buddy guy, b. King, stevie ray) to instrumental (branford marsalis, joe beck, bill frissell, snarky puppy) and vocal jazz (gregory porter, melody gardot, jane monheit, catherine russel, etc. ) and even some orchestral work. I needed to replace my klipsch earbuds, and thought i’d try something else. Reviews here and elsewhere on the web were good for these sony’s so i thought i’d give them a try. While the separation and clarity is very good, i had two issues with them. The first is the lack of bass.

The sound is full, and the cables do not tangle despite not being flat.

These headphones lack bass impact and instrument separation, but you get what you pay for.
